What is the LEAD Owls Program?
LEAD Owls provides opportunities for leadership development for NCAA student-athletes and teams, current and potential Club Sports officers, and other custom programs. LEAD Owls also gives groups and teams of any kind the opportunity to enhance their experience through experiential and team building shared experiences. This is available to ALL departments within Kennesaw State University, as well as, the greater Kennesaw community.
NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Academy
This program includes a first year seminar experience centered around leader development offered by University College and the First-Year and Transition Studies Department. It also includes Team Leader Development and Experiential learning among the 16 NCAA Division I Intercollegiate teams that represent Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Club Sports Leadership Academy
This collaboration between the Center for Student Leadership and KSU Club Sports is a co-curricular cohort series that offers leader development for current and interested Club Sports team officers.
Level I focuses on personal development in the areas of Leaders as Advocates, Leaders as Problem Solvers, and Leaders as Partners. Level II focuses on the improvement of KSU Club Sports with a focus on Policy Argument and the implementation of new ideas.
The Department of Sports and Recreation Manager Development
In collaboration with the Department of Sports & Recreation, the Center for Student Leadership offers a student manager leader development series throughout each semester to enhance and support the development of student leaders.
Student Government Association Intern Series
In collaboration with the Department of Student Life and the Student Government Association (SGA), the Center for Student Leadership offers an Intern series during the fall semester that provides leadership development and preparation for students who are interested in SGA.
LEAD Owls believes all students have the capacity to lead. By joining this program, you will have the opportunity to lead in the classroom, on the field of competition, and in the local community.
